A month or so back we hosted a couple of longstanding dear friends from Spain to a weekend at Bowral. Unfortunately the weather Gods were not too kind with what they served up for them. After a fair bit of rain on the Saturday the Sunday started out damp and gloomy.
One of our favorite places to take tourists when we are in the Southern Highlands is Fitzroy Falls — a much under publicised natural highlight about 90 minutes from Sydney — and which always seems to me to be the perfect place to film the next version of King Kong. (There is an image of the Escarpment in the "Places" section of my web site). Around the circumference of the valley are a number of fire trails and laid out pathways which are perfect for the less athletic amongst us to enjoy the flora, fauna and views.
Despite the weather the tourists loved what they saw...not that they could see all that much!
